Another interesting bird at the London Wetlands Centre was this grey heron. He was rather a clever bird. Each day at 11am and 2am the volunteers would go into the compound where the otters were kept and feed them. This grey heron would arrive just before feeding time in the hope of getting some of the food meant for the otters, and certainly while we were there he was quite successful.

It was fascinating to watch this grey heron get as much food as possible, though it was careful to avoid being too close to the otters.
