This shot was taken by Katharine, who went exploring in the garden at the rear of our house, after she saw something purple. There was a new unanounced arrival, this rather attractive purple and white flower, which I think is a variety of columbine. If anyone knows for sure what it is, can you let me know?
This is a pretty one, I like the white tips on the flowers.
I’ve got 3 aquilegia bushes in my garden and I didn’t plant any of them. They just appeared and I’ve got new seedlings popping up this year. I like free plants!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated. Katharine was thrilled by all your responses.
Thank you too to those of you who confirmed that it is a variety of Aquilegia / Columbine. Further research, looking at lots of photos online, suggests it is the Bulgarian variety.
It is certainly nice that such an attractive plant like this should appear in our garden!
(Have capture some of our garden for later.)
