Katharine and I went for a longer walk today, to Rawcliffe Bar Country Park, then along the Ings to Clifton Bridge, through the Homestead Park and back home again. Lots of people out enjoying the warm sunshine. Some nice displays of wild flowers along the way. Following my close-up shot of the buttercups yesterday, we found this carpet of them in the western part of the country park. There are a number of different plants growing here (including a stray dandelion seed head, bottom left), but the yellow is all buttercups. They make such a cheerful display.
Our walk was around 4 miles long, and the achilles tendon wasn't painful and just had a slight swelling at the end, so that was very pleasing. It will soon be ready for a more serious walk!
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I think that even if the County Park staff wanted to cut this lot, they might have difficulty, since the park is currently almost cut in half with wotk on a new flood bank, so I don't think there is a route for their tractor mower to get to this part of the park.
This is a great capture showing how abundant they are this year. I’ve been trying to get an image like this but my phone doesn’t do it justice. This is brilliant!

Thank you Pat. To get a result like this it needs a zoom to compress the buttercups together.
