Today's photo is from our oldest grandson Oliver. He has recently become interested in photography, and this is one of his shots that he took a few days ago when he went for a walk with some of his friends.
Two small lakes were excavated at the northern end of Bourne woods, Lincolnshire, in 1972 and these watering holes have become home to ducks, herons, many aquatic animals and several species of fish. There is a mass of rushes and sedge, white water lilies float on the surface and yellow flag grows in the margins while fallow deer come to drink here in the evenings and early mornings and their hoof prints can often be seen in the soft mud at the water's edge.
I like the way Oliver has used a low viewpoint that gives a sense of depth, and that he caught the reflections of trees on the lake surface.
He’s certainly got a good eye for photography, it must run in the family.
I also like the low pov, it makes me feel immersed into the shot.
I love to hear stories like this where nature has come to life, it sounds like a lovely area.
Well done to Oliver. I hope to see him on 365 soon. Max was very interested in photography when he used to come with me for walks, but he hasn't taken a picture for quite a long time now.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs for Oliver's photo, I'm sure he will be encouraged by your comments.
Oliver and I are planning a photography walk next time I visit. It is lovely to look back on photos that I took in my teens. Hopefully Oliver will develop his interest.
