For some reason, the 20-somethings I was briefly blocking in the busy doorway were giving me warm smiles when I moved out of the way. I don't know Slovenian, so I photographed the sign outside. Later my hotel receptionist said it's a prestigious art school. Were they amused, did they recognize a distant kindred spirit or did I have spinach stuck in my teeth?
