The Volunteer

A plant found on a grave site near to one containing many such plants.

Yesterday Daryl (@darylo) and I did a photowalk in Atlanta, GA. She's a native, I'm in town for a month. We had fun. We both survived eating at The Varsity, an institution known as much for heartburn as its food. Luck was on our side in finding All Saints church without a service in progress and unlocked. The day before had heavy rain from the tropical storm, but left in time for an all blue sky Sunday. That made for pleasant walking with cameras in the city's oldest cemetery.

Great to see two different angles on the same flower. I love the way you can see the shadows even on these thinnest of petals. Had to look up Volunteer flower so I have learned something too.

The spider web is a special added interest.

@helenhall Thanks. The tiny details also caught my eye. I;m liking my new lens.
@bette I shudder at those who would have cloned out the web. Thanks.
@ukandie1 Thanks.

@pistache Thanks. I was curious to see how we treated the same subjects, given our different preferences, focal lengths.and her far greater skill set.

This plant is called a "Naked Lady." Well no, I have never heard it except in plural. "Naked Ladies." Here:
