Today I drove to Hartsop a small village in the English Lake District it's about a 160 mile round trip from where I live. It lies in the Patterdale valley, near Brothers Water, Hayeswater and Kirkstone Pass. I took a number of photos and could easily of spent more time doing so, this one consists of two images taken in manual mode and then merged in PS.
You may be able to see a group of deer on the left side of the photo about half way up, I manage to walk very carefully towards them and get some better shots, I've posted a photo of one in my other 365 album 'choices'.
Lovely shot, with that scattering of snow on the high tops. I just managed to make out the deer, but might well have missed them if you hadn't mentioned them!
@neatz It was very cold the ground frozen solid and very icy. On the other hand it was so steep walking up there gave me rather a work out especially carrying my photo gear including tripod, waterproof coat, spare jumper, water bottle, coffee flask and sandwiches. I actually didn't feel the cold. Thanks for the comment.
Beautiful shot but are you sure it's not hawes water? When I saw the thumbnail I thought I recognised it from a trip there last year. Good to see snow on the tops
