I like everything mermaid, being raised close to the ocean. I have a few mermaid costumes and I walked in the Promenade of Mermaids, in Old Town Sacramento, a few years ago. I was surprised how eclectic the participants were and how much fun I had. There were kids dressed up as sailors, a man in a shark costume, adult pirates, a girl jelly fish, all ages of mermaids and Sophie dressed in her very own mermaid costume. We got 2nd place in the adult category. It was sponsored by The Dive Bar where they have a tank and a mermaid swimming above the bar.
