Well, now that the new roof is done (photos soon), it's on to the next project. Katniss is SO happy it is once again peaceful and quiet. But, not for long. We need to get the exterior of the house painted before winter. Plus that balcony you see Katniss enjoying, will need to completely come down and be rebuilt. Unfortunately, there is too much dry rot to have it repaired. Katniss is not going to like that and neither am I. I am too old to stand on a street corner so I may need to rob a bank. $$$$$
@maggiemae Haha! Sometimes I wonder! We do not play the lottery. We woke up today to a leaking cracked sprinkler valve connected to the main water pipe and had to shut off the water to the house. A plumber came out to fix and he wanted $715 and that included a senior discount. We paid him for the service call of $80 and said, no thank you. We called a neighbor and he came over and cut a pipe and capped off the leak in 5 minutes. He is coming back tomorrow to install a new shut off valve and repair the pipe...but we were able to turn on the water to the house again. It makes me so mad that the plumber was going to charge us so much for a straightforward job. I am so thankful for nice neighbors! :)
