Slackliner, Ryan Robinson, set a world record in Folsom, CA. He crossed barefoot over the American River,1919 feet...from Lake Natoma Crossing (bridge), over the Rainbow Bridge to the Folsom Historic Bridge. Slacklining is walking across a suspended length of flat webbing, similar to tightrope walking and just as dangerous. It was exciting to see and took him about 45 minutes to complete. Best on Black.
The first photo shows where Ryan started the challenge from the Lake Natoma Crossing bridge. The bridge was lined with well wishers (but hard to see). His neighbor made a sign to cheer him on. Then there is a shot of Ryan slacklining over the middle of the American River and then crossing above the Rainbow bridge packed with onlookers. Several people went out on the water in kayaks, on paddle boards, crew boats, water patrol boat and swimmers on rocks to watch him make history. And finally, he finished at the Folsom Historic Bridge where he stood up in tears and waved to friends, Folsom residents and all the cameras.
