This little historic chapel, hidden in the woods, is called St. Francis of the Mountains. It is located near the southern shore of Fallen Leaf Lake. Built between 1921-1923 with a stone foundation and pine exterior, the first service was given in July of 1923. The Chapel is only open during the summer months but the grounds remain open year round. The serene natural setting has a small footbridge, memorial garden and is surrounded by Aspens and towering trees.
