We had a beautiful sky to close out the last day of July. I noticed the lit clouds at first before the rays of light, some call Fingers of God or Buddha's Ladder and even Jacob's Ladder. Although it looks like a sign from the heavens, it is an optical illusion called crepuscular rays. The rays appear to diverge and widen. I think they are intriguing and lovely.
