Stop Thief! by grammyn

Stop Thief!

Last night at the supper table my husband told me about this squirrel but l was unable to catch him in the act. Dog gone it if he didn't come back tonight! He is pulling stuffing out of one of the chair cushions and running off with it, presumbly to build a nest! Tonight I caught him. The cushion is ruined but will stay there so he can get all he needs and hopefully leave the other cushions alone!
ha!!!

Omg. Just the other day we noticed 5 wholes in our cushions and wondering if it was the squirrel or some birds who poked. This is kinda funny but not really! Well captured tho... now what is your solution stopping this behavior? I am going to be on the look out as well in my yard.

When a squirrel gets to be a problem here I set up a “have a heart” trap to capture it then transport it to one of the township parks. No harm ever done to the squirrel 🐿

This is so hilarious Katy, good that you caught him red handed. It would be hard to believe otherwise ;-)

They love patio chair cushion filling. We bought an outside storage trunk for our new cushions 😊

Bless your heart for so being so kind! How neat to catch him in the act.

Once a habit is established he will continue to come back so I think I'd put the other cushions away now so that when his source runs out he'll stop coming. Nests have to be comfy for the winter, don't you know! Funny!

LOL. Persistent little guy.

You are very generous, and agree with others, he will return for more but what can you do? Lovely shot.

This Is the lady that catches a fly in a glass and takes it outside instead of killing it

@dutchothotmailcom I am not too upset because the cushions were old and needed replacing anyway. My solution will be to leve the damaged one out for them to use still
@pej2 that is such a great idea but we live by a green belt that has dozens of squirrels and relocating them is not a very viable option. Learning to live with them is our solution.
@summerfield LOL! Too bad I find them cute even like this!
@ludwigsdiana Thanks Diana. I have suspected before but this is the first time I have actually seen it!
@louannwarren These were old cushions and this was their last year so I am not too upset. Were they new cushions I would be upset!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I have never heard that word before but now know it is a nest Thanks JAckie!
@scoobylou Thanks Laura. Who doesn't want a nice home? The cushion is already ruined so there is no point in throwing it away. Then he might tear up another one!
@olivetreeann They will all come in for the winter but as long as he has one for easy picking I feel he will continue to use it and I don't mind.
@eudora I imagine he feels he has created a mansion with all this fluff
@sandradavies Thanks Sandra. The cushion is already ruined why not let him keep using it instead of tearing up a new one?
@randystreat Entertaining AND a nuisance!
@prn yup
