We came upon a row of argilehss for rent in the street. This gentleman was very willing to show us how they were smoked while Ruth and I took photos.
The tobacco is placed in a metal holder and covered with aluminum foil which has a few holes poked in it. Hot coals are placed on the foil which heats the tobacco. The smoke is drawn down through water and then into the pipe which has a disposable mouthpiece. There are many different types of tobacco available and it smells similar to a pipe. The sign behind the gentleman tells the prices for different tobaccos. It was common to see these in restaurants as well as on the street. Although it has been used for a very different type of tobacco that was NOT the case where I saw it being used.
mmmmmmmmm the pair of you are playing with me!!!!! @gerry@grammyn ......Neat shot Miss Katy, I like the line up of arghiles and the puff of smoke, had no idea I was busy photobombing your pic!!! :-)
Great shot of @ruthmouch and the arghiles! The more of your photos I see, the more jealous I become of your trip! In the best possible jealous way, of course! :)
@grammyn Still not completely well, but so much better! And 2 more days of tournaments then those will be done. And, God willing nice weather will come and I will feel like going outside where here are many more photo ops than in my house!
@pasadenarose Thanks, Rose! I had always heard them called hookahs too! I am not sure exactly where the other term comes from but that is what Ruth called them!

This is a wonderful shot, and cool to include Ruth in it also. :-)
