Since we retired from milking Harry & I have been planting a new wood & adding various trees were we can. This morning we have planted a line Copper Beeches down the drive & two apple trees & two Victoria plum trees. This one is a Norway Maple which should have been planted in a Lidl car park but someone had tarmacked over the hole so we got it cheap ! The guy in the picture worked really hard all morning.
Oh I love copper beeches. There is still one in my parents garden and I used to climb up it when I was quite little and hide in the branches. Think I might need a ladder to access it now! The colours are so beautiful.
Me too, I planted one at our previous home but sadly no room for one here, but there is one growing the other side of our road, so I can still enjoy one.
I have an copper beech hedge too. It had been in for about 4 years and now one is unable to walk between the trees. Norway maple would be Acer nigre I think.
