This picture is from yesterdays walk I'm afraid, I haven't had chance to take any pictures today. This is the river that bounded our farm. It's a tidal river from the Irish Sea & does get very wide at certain times of the year. The hills you can see in the background are the western edge of the Pennines, the backbone of England. Up to 2 years ago we milked Jersey cows on this farm. Our milk went to make cheese, the best known being Butlers Blacksticks Blue which you can buy in Tesco & Marks & Spencers to name a couple. Tui has been for her swim ! Last year we sold the land & buildings but retained the house & one field & retired !!
@judithg Lancashire is a great county & lots of varied country side, shore, fells etc but it would have a hard job competing with Cambridge I think !! Have only been once but just loved all those wonderful Colleges & historic buildings !!
