Wind Turbine by happypat

Wind Turbine

This is the large wind turbine that was erected about nine months ago to power Dewlay Cheese. Apparently it is the only cheese company that has it's own power supply. It caused a sensation when it went up as we were all surprised how big it was ! There were quite a few bumps on the A6 as drivers craned their heads to look. We have a number of cheese dairy's within a ten mile radius as it is the fertile Fylde area with many dairy farms. Sandhams, Dewlay, Butlers, Mrs. Kirkhams to name a few. I should have taken it when there was a blue sky really, it would have shown up better !
I haven't heard of Dewlays but I did enjoy a bit of Blacksticks Blue for lunch and I often buy Mrs Kirkhams & Butlers - lovely. The Fylde is the ideal place for wind power - good idea - but not quite Angel of the North!!

Pat, I love wind turbines, they look so majestic. Nice 'shot from a car' too :)

Don't forget to 'tag' your pictures when you post them as it let's people search for topics and find your pics :)

That's interesting........if you buy Mackies Ice Cream it's made a few miles from us and they have their own energy supply too. http://www.mackies.co.uk/farm/wind_turbines.aspx
