I could have put views galore of yesterdays walk on 365 but have opted for this photo of the traditional way of separating fields in our part of the world. Because this is an area with high amounts of stock,be it cows, beef cattle or sheep there needs to be good fences to keep them in. We have lots of traditional hedges but I love these old walls which they use in the hills around here. The stones that stick out are where you can climb over ! Posting early today as off to London for the day !
I love the look of these old dry stone walls. We have some within about half an hour from here - and all over victoria in parts, but there are usually wire fences on the other side - to keep the stock in. They are superb examples of craftsmanship indeed.
Nice one Pat, this might work in black and white too :)...btw... I notice you are starting a photography course. Have you considered joining a local camera club?
I joined our local camera club a few years ago and have managed to pick up quite a few tips, tricks and techniques from the club over the years :) Our club has quite a mixed membership ranging from novices to expert !!! It's only a thought , it may not work for you
These walls remind me so much of Ireland, where I saw them first. For me they were the essence of rural beauty :). Thank you for sharing this and reviving my wonderful memories!
Hope you enjoy London........back to school here!!
