This is the Vale of Lune Hunt which is our nearest hunt. They don't come on our land but go round the Lancaster , Cockerham area. They were putting on a demonstration in the main ring but were waiting in the wings while the Tug-o-War was on. This little boy was just overwhelmed by these hounds & I must say they were lovely friendly dogs even thought is a controversial subject! They are only allowed to use decoys now but all still enjoy going out although Harry would have had a fit if they came jumping all over his land when it was wet !! If you are interested in seeing me in my marquee we are now on www.lancashireone.com just over half way. Dot did the talking as she is good at that but we walk round together. It is all quite interesting though & there is tractor pulling at the end ! Last show photo tomorrow ..I am ready for a change of subject !! Thank you for all your interest & comments !!
this is a really fun shot - so much to take in. def best magnified! thanks for your words of encouragement. . . puppies puppies puppies. . .this girl needs to learn how to use the ladies room. . .hahaha.
@stepheesue When we first got a puppy I wondered what on earth I had done but things do improve !! Thanks for the comments Stephanie ! @jquinn@robinwarner Thank you so much, I did wonder whether to crop it just to show the boy & the dogs but thought would lose half the story so in the end left it.
Great shot - love that boy being licked to death and the hunt jackets. WIll look you up on the Lancs website!! I know a few farmer's daughters and all of them say the hunt wasn't allowed on their land because of the damage - it seems that hunting wasn't so wildly popular in the country as they lead you to believe - they all said 'so long as it's not on my land!'
@judithg No most farmers don't want lots of heavy horses jumping over their hedges so you are right about NIMBY !! Great photo of you & Janna ..you will miss her !
These photos are exactly how I imagine a English fair - it's certainly how it is portrayed on English television shows. I have thoroughly enjoyed your series - thanks for posting.
