Home Baking

My dear I love you ardently,
Adore your charm, the way you look,
I'm captivated by your voice,
I've read with pride your latest book,
and yet I will not marry you
Until, sweetheart you've learned to cook.

by Martyno ''Ultimatum''.

A day at home staying in the warm & out of this rain. Filled up the biscuit tin with these oat cookies!

I never think to take pictures ogf my baking, must try it sometime, nicely composed.

they look rather scrumptious Pat, nice POV too.

You've gone a bit heavy on the icing sugar though, I would have to shake some of it off if you offered me one .

You impressed by the use of the word 'scrumptious' ......I think Trudy Scrumptious was in Chitty Chitty bang bang !!!
August 11th, 2011
@phil_howcroft I am very impressed by the word scrumptious.. I love that word !! No icing sugar there Phil I think it is just the light !! You can have one any time you like !!
August 11th, 2011
They look lovely...but if you are going to put photos up of your baking, you have to put in the recipe, too!!! Didn't think they had icing sugar on them, either...
August 11th, 2011
@phil_howcroft Sorry I have deleted yours & Miriams last comments by mistake !! They definatly have no sugar on & all are the same colour as the top one so I think it's the light on the others! Thanks for your comments !!!

August 11th, 2011
oh wow..you just made me soooo hungry :)
August 11th, 2011
yummy - I can smell them from here Pat. They look a lot like biscuits we make here called ANZAC biscuits. They are made out of oats and golden syrup etc and they are delicious. I love the cherries on top.
August 12th, 2011
Actually, we can swap recipes if you like Pat. This is the history of our ANZAC biscuits http://www.anzacday.org.au/miscellaneous/bikkies.html and this is the recipe http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/21104/anzac+biscuits

@murnane Thanks Marg, I have looked at your recipe & it is very similar to mine except there is no coconut in mine . I have noticed in NZ & perhaps Australia too that you are very fond of coconut where as we hardly use it unless making something like macaroons ! Giselle was quite keen to know the recipe so I will write it down for both of you! I think you will say they are pretty much the same !! Nice to exchange recipes !
August 12th, 2011
@giselle @murnane We don't use cups, the recipe's all in imperial due to it being a very old recipe, I've attached the recipe for the biscuits at the link below - http://bit.ly/oatbiscuitrecipe
