This is Tui's first walk in harness for over 8 years. Anthony & Jo used to take her walks when she was small before they went to NZ but since then she has just been a farm dog going where & when she likes. We only took her in the fields so she is a bit of a free spirit !!
Now that Harry & I have more time & would like to go further afield we thought it time we trained Tui up for public life. I had her on the canal bank in Garstang today & she behaved very well considering, no growling at other dogs or barking, just pulling me along a little faster than I would have liked but pretty good on the whole.
Cathy our daughter said I had to pretend I had inherited her as she is so overweight I should be ashamed !!! You can tell she visits all the neighbours for food !!
Hahaa - that's funny - you can tell everybody she's a rescue and look innocent when they tut at the tubbiness! She doesn't look too bad from this angle! Was she put out when you put the lead on? Just watch your shoulder - I'm blaming my bad shoulder on Monty pulling while I'm taking photos right handed!
Yay for walking dogs!! Hope you and Tui enjoy your travels together...stick with it (and carry just a couple tiny cookies to get her attention if there are wild dogs or squirrels about!). What a lovely place to walk!
