I have done nothing today except a quick tidy up in the house & then sat in front of the Aga all afternoon finishing my book ! Disgraceful really as it is a bright sunny but cold day out & I should have got my bicycle out as I intended !!
These are just some of the bits & pieces on my dresser.
Love it!
Why do we feel guilty at having lazy days! We don't give ourselves gold medals for the days we achieve the impossible!
I'm calling it balance!
Ooo I love the sparkly lights and the crisp blue and whites against the warm wood. I have had this whole week off from work and have stayed in my jammies til noon every day, just puttering. I know I am getting some stuff done, but what a sloth! I haven't even picked up a book!
Well, I disagree, Pat! This composition is really beautiful and very inspiring to me. Lovely lighting and colors. It's a restful scene ... hope that you enjoyed YOUR rest and the book as well. :)
Sooo lovely and nice and dusted of course! Nothing wrong with a chill out day now and again - just think of all those cows you've seen to over the years!
I declared a a 'holiday at home' this week - and it's been lovely. No guilt attached whatsoever! I love your blue and white bits & bobs. I have a collection too - and must photograph them one day. But they're not as beautifully displayed as yours.
Marvellous.......are you reading or writing a book? I also spent a non photo day, visiting friends but found a shot as we were leaving......some days are just not inspirational!!!
@fannyb No reading Fanny which I do every spare moment, finished this one today.. an odd book called Entangled by Cath Clarke..it was strangely fascinating but wouldn't read it again.
We all need days like that. It's about rejuvenating. Funny how we induce so much guilt in ourselves when we allow such a day. I'm working on getting rid of the guilt! A lovely photo - I love the lights.
Such a wonderful comforts of home shot, Pat! I love the blue and white china and ceramic pieces ~ and the happy, cheerful string of lights ~ along with the beautiful warm wood of your dresser. Perfect! Those times when we have a day to spend with a good book and a warm, comfy spot are too few and far between...I say enjoy every moment when they do come along!! :)
