I have been on a rather wet but pleasant walk today to Mere Sands Wood near Rufford. Although the weather could have been better it certainly didn't spoil our day.
We had our lunch in one of the hides overlooking a lake, one of the nicer places I have had a meal!
This is a beautiful area with lots of nature trails & very varied scenery.
@fannyb We took packed lunches Fanny & just sat in the hide to eat them. lots of ducks & there was a heron but nothing very exciting. We noticed the ducks & birds came out more as we left & it stopped raining for a bit.
ooh Pat you've disappointed me, i would have expected lots of bird shots from this hide !!! I like how your friends are focussed on the scene outside and oblivious to you doing your photo shoot :)
@phil_howcroft Well people before bird pictures for me anytime though I do like watching the birds. Only ducks today & they were hiding a bit because of the rain. Friends were busy munching their lunch ...we were hungry!
