A rather charming little tale about HM Queen discovering the library van. Written in the unique down to earth Alan Bennett style this is a book to be read on a pouring wet day in summer in front of the fire with a hot drink & a bag of Maltesers.
It will take you one afternoon, it's pretty short so consequently expensive for it's size ...perhaps a book to get from the library!!
I am posting early today as Harry & I are off to the Lake District for tonight & tomorrow. Staying with our UK family in Hawkshead.....forecast rain!!!
Not a very good photo as I have a light glare of the plastic tablecloth but never mind, am in a rush!!!
That's a brilliant book! And as one of our friends works on a library van which visits Balmoral we tease him about it!
Have a nice time away and hope the sun shines for you!
Loving your Preston Guild bookmark! Lovely looking book - thinking I might buy it as a birthday present for my friend who loves Alan Bennett and then borrow it back! Cup of tea and packet of Matesers sounds like a perfect combo - we have a terrible weather forecast but so far it's mostly been threat rather than action.
Sounds an interesting read,,,,tea and maltesers sound good too....hard to believe how miserable June was. Hope you have fun and possibly a ray or two of sun in Hawkeshead. Enjoy!!
Have a nice time away and hope the sun shines for you!
