''To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are.''
Chucking it down with rain today so two indoor shots.
Thought I would take an up to date photo for my profile picture while I have a slight tan & looking fairly decent! This is SOOC except for a slight softening...& I do mean slight!!!!!
Harry was making me laugh!
I have been a little lax with commenting lately specially to the middle of the night uploads so sorry if I have missed you. If I don't get to comment a bit in the morning I am overwhelmed by evening!
Three good things:
1. The rain is washing all the salt off the roads.
2. My friend who is suffering from terrible depression is feeling slightly better this morning.
3. So glad I have not got depression .....I feel very blessed, it is the worse thing ever.
The tan suits you. You look great, like you just had a nice long holiday. Oh wait, you did just have a nice long holiday! I need one of those desperately. My cousin from Peru just sent me some photos of him and his wife and friends having a good time on a yatch, under sunny skies. While I don't wish to be someone else (for the most part) I definitely wish to be somewhere else, haha!!
Your photo taken from underneath is very good and not always so! Generally better taken looking up to the camera. Its the natural smile which you want to capture and you have here, Pat! Hope the blood tests are all OK?
One of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen! And I can tell it's genuine! Love this bright, beautiful selfie, Pat!
So glad your friend seems to be coming around a bit from her depression.
Hurrah - lovely happy shot. Sometimes we just have to count our blessings that we are well. Was just talking to one of my fellow governors tonight about one of our ex-colleagues who has a weird neurological condition that has completely changed his personality, made him barely able to manage on his own (he moved out from family when his personality changed), and put him in hospital in a really bad way for quite a while. what a nightmare, financially, personally and every way you look at it - wife & kids in a dreadful state. So yes - we must be very grateful indeed for robust mental health.
@fannyb I feel the same Fanny, Kent is a long way but you never know....welcome at our place any time ....Four in a Bed do you ever watch that programme, I would never go on that but great fun to watch.
You look healthy, and well you should after all that holiday time on the beaches and from darting in and out of luxurious Hobbit holes. It must've been hell. Nice tan, Pat, and also you do have very nice looking teeth if you don't mind me saying so.
@judithg Goodness how ones world can change Judith!!! Poor, poor things we are so lucky! I think a mental health illness is worse than a physical one by a long way & we are all only an incident away!!
What a gorgeous photo! Very you and love the tan - feel very pale and wintry in comparison!
And you are so right about depression.......I have a friend too!
@happypat I like your three good things too. Somehow I missed them first time looking at the picture as I was dazzled by your teeth. ;) I've suffered from depression for years. I have real empathy for your friend.
@sabresun A truly terrible affliction Matt...my mum also had it for years & dreaded getting out of bed in the mornings.. She was terrified she would have passed the affliction on to us kids but thank the Lord no sign!
great selfie Pat - I'm always grateful that I don't suffer depression - and that luckily nobody in my family does...such a difficult thing to deal with
So glad your friend seems to be coming around a bit from her depression.
thank you to all you lovely friends, you do boost ones confidence I am very grateful for all your kind words.
And you are so right about depression.......I have a friend too!
