Solitude. by happypat

Solitude.

After taking some what I thought were decent photos in St Michael's Church this morning only to find them out of focus, here is one from my Preston shots from the other day.
I liked the way this girl was sitting & her brightly coloured coat.

A very frustrating day having spent one hour & six minutes trying to get hold of Sky & being told I am in queue but no one answering....will have to try in the middle of the night I think!!!!
My computer has been a nightmare today too, refusing to import & down load photos.

Three good things:
1. Patience!
2. New Zealand parcel posted in what I hope is enough time.
3. Fourth episode of Dancing on the Edge tonight.
Great POV for this shot. Oh, I wish I could go and give her some company, and brush her hair.

A nice capture. It is quite a sad scene but the colour of the girls coat cheer it up. I hope she was happy.

Love how you edited this. It really brings out the feeling of solitude. sorry re the computer frustration and the hour plus wasted.

Marvelous street composition, Pat. Perfect title, too, as she seems to be in her own little world.
Sounds like you've had a trying day. Put your feet up a little later with some hot tea, or something stronger, and enjoy your show...you deserve it!

@fannyb We haven't had any satellite signal for days Fanny & we pay a lot of dosh just to get the sports channel for Harry but it's a nightmare getting hold of them & then on your hands & knees at the back of the TV....grrrrrr

@judithg Oh crikey Judith I never thought of that!!!!! Must look into that when I eventually get hold of them...thanks for thinking of that!!!!!
February 11th, 2013
@judithg Have just checked online & it's a do it yourself job for no satellite signal so will have a go like you tomorrow!!!!

@happypat Oh good! Mind you when that happened to us it was because the leaves had come out on the tree by the house and blocked the signal! It was a good thing because the man moved the dish into a more discreet position on a bracket having insisted that that was impossible first time round!

She looks lonely maybe she is waiting for her boyfriend, ? As for the hair I think they call it the tousled look !

Vibrant colours and want to know her story!

Nice street shot Pat, amazing amount of moss or lichen on the steps. Hope the computer feels better soon.

brilliant Pat, if you cropped the image to the left (taking out the bench , the lady and the drink window) then the girl becomes even more isolated......and emphasises the lone bit....you could even call it chillax :)

Very cool POV and composition.

Lovely piece of stree photography. I think she's rather happy with herself reading

Lovely street shot Pat, you have captured the solitude perfectly

Together alone. I wonder how many people passed her and she didn't notice as she was so absorbed in what she was concentrating upon. A neat candid, Pat. I think this would look good in b/w too.
