I am going to Thornton Clevelys Little Theatre tonight with a friend so there won't be much commenting I'm afraid. She did tell me what we are going to see but I have forgotten....something to do with a murder!
Three good things:
1. The spotted woodpecker is back on the bird table, we haven't seen him since we got back from NZ so he was a welcome sight.
2. The B&B stayed two nights instead of one!
3. Our favourite hotel 'The Collinwood Arms'' had a great 5 star write up today in the Daily Mail...well deserved.
4. Happy Birthday to my lovely sister, I don't get to see her often enough!
I really like how you composed this but I have to say I am troubled by our inability to just be quiet- with our own thoughts, communing with nature, with prayer or meditation. And the constant "connecting" through electronics is so addictive. I find I am concerned with myself in that realm with time I spend here and editing photos!
@jgpittenger I agree Jane the amount of texting & phoning up in the middle doing everyday things is getting really out of hand I think. The was a girl in Boots at the check out the other day & she was describing to the husband/partner the shower caddy she had just bought. People have no peace & quiet these days ....they can be GOT At anytime of day or night!!!
Fab composition Pat. I agree about the phones - and I'm as bad now as I can just nip on the internet and do a bit of 365ing! I think I'm going to start putting my phone at the bottom of my bag and get back to looking around me and daydreaming.
@judithg After I had read all the stuff i had written about mobile phones I did stop & think...whoa.. are we as bad always nipping on 365 to see what we have missed!!!! If I had a mobile with access to 365 I would be looking too perhaps!!
@happypat Well there was that survey recently that said 50% of people are addicted to the internet and I felt I fell into that group! I used to be appalled at people being on the phone when sitting having coffee with each other - now it's absolutely commonplace though I won't do it. We should do the new New York thing where you put your phones in the middle of the table and the first one to touch theirs has to pay for the meal - even youngsters have realised that they are socialising with the absent and not the present... Very sad!
Fabulous composition on here. I love the capture and the lines. I know what you mean about always being connected, I have days when I switch my phine off and feel much more free!!!
Great catch!! I am one of those people that you will catch on the phone all the time. I have to fix that habit of mine.. This is a excellent picture, like th composition.
@mrsfeet Thanks Catherine! I was going to mention to Pat that her link didn't work! Good candid texting lady here with good looking boots! I think the continual texting makes young people not feel alone.
great shot - we were laughing at work about clients that don't allow technology in their offices (MOD etc)...and how you find yourself checking your absent phone every 5 seconds...it's such a habit!!
Have fun at the theatre.
Mum, this is the link for you and Auntie Margie having lunch, last August
