Grasmere village as we emerged from Potted Out yesterday.
Had real good clearing out day today & have been rummaging to the back of the airing cupboard, chucking old towels out in preparation for getting new ones at Boundary Mill tomorrow.
Harry likes to get the old ones for oil rags etc so not wasted.
Cleaned some of the attic out & will take that to the charity shop next time I'm in Garstang.
Must have been in the mood today!!!
Three good things:
1.Fantastic to see the sheep being dug out alive from the snow in Wales & the Isle of Man.
2. 20% of a couple of shirts from Boden.
3. All holiday makers back either side of us & Abu Dhabi residents back for Easter down the lane.
Such a lovely view of this charming village! I love the message board with 'Great News". Wonderful shot, Pat. Ah, bless those poor sheep...glad all is well. Love Boden's...lucky you!
@peggysirk Do you get Boden too Peggy...some of the reviews are from the USA. I used to get quite a lot from them but find they are a little bright for me now, I am into more subtle colours now but always love their jersey crinkle shirts.
@happypat All via catalog mail order. Also Baby and Kid's Boden...cutest children's clothing ever. I can't find as much from Boden as I did when I was younger, but I can still find a cute tunic top or jacket. :)
@peggysirk I like to buy stuff for Max too , he has some fabulous tartan baggies he has grown out of now, but just ordered him some similar...nothing like the kids clothes in NZ so he looks a bit different.
Could be the setting for the Hovis ad!! what an attractive village, presume potted out is a restaurant but sounds more like a garden centre!! I had a clearing out day too, must be in the air!!
@fueast Fabulous light meal at Potted Out Alison! I am going to Boundary Mill to see if I can get a couple of replacement cups, I bought the originals from there but I think it might be out of stock, will have to get as near match as I can...lucky they are white. Funny if your Mum was there at the same time!!
Love seeing this charming English village in the early spring - be great in the summer too! We have done all our clearing out after shifting from a large house to a small one! Its a great feeling and I don't miss a thing!
I like this a lot Fav! I like the way the trees are gathered behind the main building. The road winding and disappearing around the corner. The lines in the iron fence. The colour of the stone used in the buildings. The crop/compositions. This is a really good photo!!
Ooh it really is lovely & especially with the snowy 'icing'. I wish I could get into spring cleaning mode - we haven't moved house for ages so a major clear or is required!! Maybe when spring arrives...
What wonderful stone! And flowers in pots! It looks so inviting...but then I saw the snow!! At least it is on its way out. This village looks very quaint...must be grand to sit outside in warmer weather.
Such a pretty village that you live in. Looks timeless.
I checked out the news in Wales and Isle of Man ... quite a disaster. My heart goes out to the farmers there. Hope the animals fare well.
Boy did you ever have a busy and productive day! Love this photo of such a charming village. Every week you are posting something that makes me want to visit.
