Another day trying to tame the garden a bit, pulling out wild garlic, nettles & a few odd brambles. Makes my garden sound a mess but the borders get a little wild between the shrubs at this time of the year.
Three good things:
1. Our lovely neighbours have got married this afternoon in Portugal.
2. Another lovely sitting out day.
3. Quietness.
Lovely peaceful shot - I know exactly what you mean about the weeds & shrubs --I have a huge nettle plant which has come to my notice in the middle if a shrubby plant I am trying to kid myself that I'm trying to entice the butterflies but if the truth be known I dont want to get stung & to trample the other plant in getting it out !!
@beryl I am itching all up my arms Beryl but the garden looks slightly better. Harry has mown the lawn which is the making of it!! I told @judithg I should keep some nettles for the butterflies but don't think they can find them at the back of the shrubs so out they come.. Easy to pull out but still roots there !!
This looks like a sea wall here to sit on and look for Ireland - there is a beach somewhere too isn't there? Saw a photo of Weston Super Mare two days ago - looked a bit like Blackpool!
@maggiemae Yes Blackpool has a really fantastic beach, I think five miles of golden sand but the tide comes in twice a day right up to the wall. These ladies are sitting on the steps looking out towards Ireland! You know your geography maggiemae!
I should have pointed out that yesterday's nettle wasn't in my garden - but when Nigel asks why I haven't pulled them out I tell him they're for butterflies - no idea if they actually lay eggs on them!
A nice quiet sea but I bet it isn't always so!
So happy that you are able to spend time in your garden. I can hardly wait until I can as well. (And my flowers need to be rescued)
