Bar Work. by happypat

Bar Work.

Middle of the day & there were already a row of men sitting on bar stools putting the world to rights Irish style......admittedly it was a Public Holiday but we have been before on an ordinary day & it's much the same!

Pub in deepest Donegal.

Three good things:
1. A new bag with birthday money.
2. My sore back is better this morning.
3. Jack helping me out with a memory card for my phone.
My goodness they are putting the world to right aren't they !! super candid capture Pat Lovely looking, clean pub ,makes all the difference does'nt it !!

And some people say that men don't talk!! Glad your back is better, very important.

@quietpurplehaze Wasn't really my back so much as a bit of sciatica type pain in my hip area to put it politely!

@happypat

Ooo nasty - I've had that in the past!

A nice capture. I love to hear the Irish accent and their sense of humour.

Haha - at first I thought the two fellows in front were dancing on the table!!!
August 12th, 2013
@bpaquette Oh goodness how funny & it looks just as if they are!!! Well spotted Barbara!

Oh those Irish know how to prop the bar up. (I'm allowed to say that as my father was Irish). A great shot, but not the way I remember Irish pubs looking.
August 12th, 2013
Lol, wonder what they are discussing. The weather perhaps? Their allotments? Great shot
August 12th, 2013
Where are the women? Do the Irish do what the middle eastern men do - go and sit and drink coffee and play games while the women are out working? Your shot is very clear and with sharp colour!
August 12th, 2013
those two on the end look like they are up to 'no good' Pat :) ..super candid shot
August 12th, 2013
@suesmith Yes they do love their pubs & most of them have a few odd men in all day....some women too occasionally!
August 12th, 2013
@lucypics I love shots like this Lucy & you cam imagine all sorts!! never listened to what they were saying unfortunately & probably Gaelic anyway!
August 12th, 2013
@maggiemae All men today maggiemae but sometimes you see the odd woman....don't mind the men in there in the day but don't like to see a woman drinking in the day time somehow, different if you are meeting friends but not a lone woman.
Saying that we were in there drinking...pot calling the kettle!!!!
August 12th, 2013
@phil_howcroft He he they do look a couple of characters don't they!!
August 12th, 2013
They look like they're part of the furniture.
August 12th, 2013
Great capture. Love the two guys on the extreme left.
August 13th, 2013
LOL, that guy on the left is really getting into it
August 13th, 2013
Great candid shot. And men say that only women gossip!!
August 13th, 2013
Love this wonderful candid shot, Pat! It does look like they are doing a good job of hashing out the state of world affairs. And such a bright pub...looks newly updated. I hope your sciatica issues are much better, Pat! And I hope that wasn't acting up on your girls' getaway trip.
August 13th, 2013
Quite right - they should be running the country! (Well maybe not after lunch!) The two on the left look like they're going to start arm wrestling.
August 13th, 2013
Great capture, like your pov. That's the Irish way, I remember scences like this quite well, when I used to live there
August 13th, 2013
Very nice shot with the focus on the 2 conversing gentlemen. Definitely rule of 3rds here ^_^
August 15th, 2013
