The fairly new media city in Salford Manchester. This is where Breakfast is broadcast from on a weekday morning...a vast expanse luxury buildings & facilities which the BBC spent on shifting the whole operation from London to the North West of England....not sure if it's been a great success myself...I think not personally.
I was out most of the day in Manchester yesterday so had no time to comment.
Wined & dined & a show at the Lowry in the evening so a very pleasant day.
Three good things:
1. I managed to negotiate the traffic on strange roads & motorways despite the Manchester marathon taking place.
2. I missed all the F1 on the TV which dominates our house in the summer.
3. My compact camera fits so well in my bag on days like these.
@onewing the Quays at Salford ix quite trendy now Babs....all these bods from London expect all facilities. Many new grand buildings...the Lowry Theatre which is the building on the left, quite futuristic looking. My daughter had her graduation here a couple of years ago.
@lucypics that is exactly why I love going to the big city now & again & I so like street scenes.....liver for so long without another house in sight so a bit of life is exciting!
It's a great photo Pat! It strikes me as a bit of a mishmash with half the presenters still being in London but it's made the BBC a bit less London-centric I think - they are always interviewing in primary schools in Oldham these days!
Alway auto these days maggiemae....have pretty much given up on the difficulties of manual.....can't be bothered with the hassle & the shots I take are pretty much as I go about my daily life & taken quickly. One day I might try again. I do use the scene settings a lot such as wide angle, macro etc.
