This is a Korean Fir, we had one at our old house so when we moved here this tree was among the 52 or so trees we have planted round the field & garden.
It has excelled itself this year & lots of these candles which eventually turn pink.
I have been continuing my painting journey today & moved to the front porch & door. So important as it's usually the first thing the B&B 's can judge the place by. I have taken a before & will show you the finished result when it's finished.must say I am getting tired now but don't want to stop as I have plenty to do & know very well if I stop I will never start again this year!
Three good things:
1. Although my shoulder is painful at night it's bearing up pretty well.
2. Sunny & very warm with no wind.....great painting weather!
3. I am picking photos to enter for the local agriculture show.....just need to order some ink to print them.....a very expensive item indeed!
What a lovely old fir tree and doesn't it have such gorgeous and large cones Aren't they beautiful in their lime green frilly edges and the tops a tanny pink ! I hope you are not overdoing it Pat but I know if you are like me --once started on a project --I must finish it !
@beryl oh I am over doing it full on a Beryl....on a roll & can't stop now....painting makes such a difference especially when you are completely changing the colour! Us women are like that though aren't we....at least I am.!
Great photo :) I think it's be much cheaper to take your chosen photos on an SD card to ASDA and get them printed there - it costs between 20p-50p a print and considering that you only need a handful printing, it'd be much better value getting them done there I imagine.
@guycalledjack yes you could be right jack...I haven't taken photos to,the printers for ages....do need some ink though as I do sometimes print stuff off.
they are amazing candles Pat and are showcased with a wonderful bokeh background. Take your photos on a usb stick down to your local processing shop or supermarket to do the printing. They only cost a few pence and the equipment is top notch, far better and cheaper than messing around with your own printers !
@happypat you can also use tour SD / CF card from your camera too. If you have post processed an image you can just copy them as a different filename back to your memory card :)
Nice shot, they do look like candles a bit like we used to have on our Christmas tree when we were kids.
The painting gets addictive doesn't it. Our house in Melbourne I painted from room to room. All together 14 rooms and then I started on the fences and the balcony, passageways and landings. David can paint this house, ha ha.
What pretty, frilly fir cones. Beautiful focus, lovely bokeh and great composition. Happy painting, I once had a blitz and couldn't stop painting and it went on into the late evening. I vow not to start again, hats off to you! Be lovely when you've finished.
@onewing@lucypics I agree very compulsive......our house has always been mostly stained dark wood so am lightening it all up.stopped at the hallway door as it suits dark & woodsy in there but the kitchen looks so much brighter.....where to stop, utility room next! Once I stop I know that will be it so onwards I go!
Looks like a lovely tree. 52 trees is a major achievement. One of my favourite trees is looking very sorry for itself this year - it's way bigger than the catalogues say so I'm guessing it's just old age but I'll be sorry to lose it. It's not giving enough shade to the hammock! Once you start painting you've got to keep going or keep washing brushes!
