Last year I entered a photo competition in our local paper so the lady rang me up the other day to see if I was entering this year.
Photos to be taken around the Garstang area so today I went out & about trying to find something decent to photograph.
Not happy with any of them as they have to be landscape with quite defined features... published in black & white in the paper to be voted by readers. Anything fussy will not show up well enough.
Will have to try again over the weekend as the closing date is next Friday.

The lovely flowers belong to my very favourite shop in Garstang selling shoes & clothes.
Three good things:
1. I had a lovely walk through Scorton up to the Apple Store Cafe & had a coffee in the sun.
2. The B&B man who comes & sorts out all our electrical & computer stuff is staying for the next three days..... already told me about a chip you can put in the ipad to have wireless where ever you are! unfortunately mine does not have this facility!!
3. My DIL in NZ has put me right...discovered I was reading number 2 of a three book saga when I hadn't read number one even though I have it on my Kindle!!

I wonder if a chip can be put into my tablet to have wireless wherever I am -- must investigate !! -- -- not too old to learn --even if not as quick as the youngsters !!
@beryl johns is the iPad 4 a Beryl. If you take it out of its cover & look on the edge of the iPad you might see a tiny slot with a pin hole near it. You put a pin in & manoeuvre the slot out then insert a media chip inside . He payed £5 through vodka phone & it's lasted him all his holidays with some left. Best thing is to take yours in & ask. Mine won't work as it's the air model & the one with the facility for this chip was £100 more. He bought the old model 4 which had this facility for an extra £ 10!
All this. I get be as clear as mud , hard to explain best thing to ask!
It looks as if you can hardly move in this area! Nice to let those flowers extend out so far. For a b&W might I suggest a clear picture (no people) of and interesting building - or just half of it!
