Chimneys

A chimney view of downtown Preston.

A miserable day today.....rain then fine, I put the washing out & the rain is so heavy we couldn't go out to get it in so I will have to spin it all again! Should have shoved it all in the drier but there are four loads of sheets etc.

Never mind on my holidays on Thursday!

Three good things:

1. I have purchased a brilliant iPad app, the only one I have paid good money for. Called Flightradar24 it tracks all the planes in the sky around the UK & tells you what plane it is where it's going...fascinating!
2. Done a bit of painting today in the top bedroom.
3. Porridge this morning....a couple of the guests chose it this morning & I finished it off......a treat we haven't had for a few weeks during the summer.
Like the composition of your chimney shot - we had the rain too but bright and sunny now.

@happypat

I do hate it when washing gets wetter on the line! It makes me seethe with a feeling of impotence!!!!!!!!

Lovely almost vintage shot of the chimneys.
I used to have something like that on my computer where you could track planes ....... must look out for something like that .... so interesting :)

I like the brickwork in this shot as well as all the chimneys. Did you know your iPad has a GPS in it - we are using ours all the time - called "Co Pilot"

Amazing , when you concentrate on one feature of the houses ,like this !! Obviously no new development in this shot , all these chimney pots have history and characters to them and not the mundane roofs often without chimney pots of the modern home .
Sorry about your washing -- nothing worse than newly laundered washing ,drenched by rain !! It was absolutely pouring here this morning now that I have woken up again still with this ghastly head - it seems bright and breezy -- but maybe another shower on the way !

Guess what I am singing "Chim, chimmery chim chimmery chim !! " in my head -- oh dear causing more of a strain on my head !! lol !

I absolutely love roof tops and skylines and chimney pots. Chimney pots and stacks especially! There are not enough of them on here. Need to suggest it as a theme!! Fav

Interesting app - might have to get it. L & I have conversations about where we think planes have been/are going. (At the moment she thinks most of them have been visiting daddy.)
