A diary shot today.
I went to help Cathy by doing her ironing while she got Jack ready for going off to the University of Sheffield tomorrow.
He is going to get withdrawal symptoms from his piano I think until he can locate one there!
Three good things:
1. Being serenaded while I ironed.
2. Out again at a 50th wedding anniversary do tonight, I could get used to eating out every night!
3. Four lovely B&Bers from Toronto staying for four nights.
A very domestic scene Pat So nice to see a young man enjoying his piano -I sometimes miss mine ,but to be fair it would be a strander to my fingers now Something so soothing in playing the piano --- Best Wishes to Jack at the Uni !
Oh that's so lovely and his mum and dad will really miss his music as well as lots of other things.
We took a LONG time to get used to Susannah being here as she played the piano so much ( and her saxaphone) and Iove when she comes home and goes straight into the study where our piano is and plays and plays! I was supposed to be working less and playing more this year but it hasn't quite worked out like that!
All the best to Jack! (And Lydia.....how is she doing?)
I might do the ironing more often if I had a pianist playing to me as I did the job... Will Jack be doing his own ironing at Uni?? or will he be sending it home to Granny... neat shot..
This scene matches your storyline so beautifully that it seems as if we are all really there. Hope all goes well for Jack - he sounds a talented young man.

Hope I didn't miss anyone out!
Thank you all so much for Jacks good wishes. He is safely ensconced at Sheffield......seems to be happy but mum & dad a bit frazzled as they took the scenic route back from the uni & got caught up ina DamnBuster display in Derbyshire. Had to pick Lydia up from school at great end of her four day gold DOE stint so only home tonight from setting off this morning...a very frazzled day!
