A day with no electricity today so all the jobs I could have done such as clearing & tidying my linen cupboard were impossible with no lights. Hooray! No cinema today as my friend has a cold so I took myself off to Blackpool with the camera.
Quite a few children around ....I didn't think it was half term yet.
This couple were rather odd...I watched them for a while & then they very obligingly sat here in front of all these squiggley lines.
They had a dog with them which was running all over the place almost out of sight at some points...it went as far as North Pier & then South Pier running wild. They were quite unconcerned even though people were asking if it was their dog...it looked quite out of control.
4.45pm & the electricity has just come back on.
Three good things:
1. Even though the electric has been off all day there is a cottage pie in the Aga & a boiling kettle on the hob.
2. Bought myself a lovely thin wool sweater for £12.50 at M&S, terrific value !
3. Harry has mown all the grass so if it rains now & never stops for weeks we are all tidy!
Great shot Pat, it looks so cold and bleak, it's turned quite cold this afternoon here in west Cumbria. I do love to here about your days, I've been shopping (again) with my Mum, she wanted a new winter coat, we found a lovely green one in Laura Ashley with 20% off so she's happy!
Super b/w shot Pat, of the large open space -- great pov and dof The two sitting there in the cold-- brrr !! is a great pop on otherwise a bland screen . I love the track marks-- they remind me of an Art Nouveau Design .
Interestingly every picture tells a story and this shot certainly does! But there are two stories - the one we see and interpret and the one you tell us about - how long they have been there and the missing dog! Fav
What odd marks are in the sand - I can't think how they were made! I do like this shot with just these two in it. Love the story about the dog - sounds as if it has just been let out after being cooped up for ages!
I love this shot and it looks excellent in b&w. Don't you hate it when there is no power. How on earth did they manage in the olden days. We take so much for granted these days. Definitely a fav for this shot.
Superb b/w shot. Those lines have the look of railway tracks. I think the gulls may be hoping for food. they are certainly patrolling. Like the composition with the couple against the sea and beach backdrop.
This is a great B&W shot Pat. I like everything about it the wide open space the strange tyre tracks, the couple and of course the ever present seagulls.
Dog was obviously enjoying itself but I wouldn't want mine running that far out of control!
Lovely.
I'm up in Blackpool soon for the Strictly Come Dancing special so will be trying to head out onto the front as much as possible for some shots.
This is really nice..!

I hope I haven't missed anyone out...so hard when scrolling down to get everyone's nsme!
Thank you all for the comments & faves on this photo......I think the lines are made with a vehicle on the sand but never saw anything doing them so not sure.
Sorry for the mass thank you....I had to go to Preston tonight to pick Lydia up from the train station so have been busy commenting since I got back.
it's a two week half term in Nottingham, starting Friday
