Filaments

We have seen several of these lovely light bulbs over the last couple of days. Bulbs showing the filament in various shapes & patterns....they look very effective with several hanging down. Of course you do need the perfect spot in your house to show them off.

Thanks you for all your comments even though I have not being commenting on yours.

Three good things:
1. I found my glasses I thought I had lost.....I had put them back in Harrys case .....they were only found after I had retraced my steps into several shops.
2. Kirby Lonsdale is as picturesque as ever.
3. Bought some very nice tartan napkins which will be very festive at Christmas.
Sounds a delightful day. We don't have a suitable place for fancy bulbs!!

@newbank I can't think of one here either Ruth!

Probably a good thing, I'd spend too long looking at the fancy bulbs and do my eyes in!

Ahh - lovely Kirkby Lonsdale. We have something very similar over our kitchen island but they use small bulbs so you don't get the filament effect. Easy to take the 'shades' off for washing though and it was a very reasonable price from Next.

Lovely photo and 3 Good things!
Sometimes it's difficult to get 'ordinary' shaped bulbs but these look rather lovely!

They look lovely

@judithg ooh Judith how lovely......I really liked these but they give no light so just for effect, The bulbs were £9.95 but when I asked what the fitting cost she said they could get them but we're £80. These were in the Bath House at Bo'ness but they had come from France. Saw some in KL today & they had the rose, flex & fitting was £ 39.50 but not as sophisticated as this display.....lacked something of the finesse about it. You have an island too.....!

These have been turning up more and more in shops and lamps around my area - and they are really cool to look at - this is a fantastic shot!

Very pretty in an ultra-modern minimalistic home -- but unfortunately they would not fit in in my home !!

This is like a modern chandelier! Very attractive and would shed plenty of economic light! Your photograph worked very well shooting into the light!

It reminds me of times in the past when we had just a single light bulb! Much more creative now though.

Very effective!

Very decorative. They would look perfect in the right setting. Don't think it would suit my house though.

@judithg have looked at your light Judith ......looks perfect & I love the different shaped bulbs. If I didn't have my up & down light over the table I would buy that... It's a shame that we like so many different lights but unless you have place for them it doesn't work. I must go tomLaura Ashleybtomorrow for some lamp bases. I have seen so do lovely lamp shades in K L to go with them.

They're very hipster you know these filament bulbs - all the 'distressed' cafes have got them in Walthamstow!
