This is Doris the dachshund who,was sitting on the counter at one of the shops in Kirkby Lonsdale today.....quite a pampered pet I think!
We went back today to buy a couple of lampshades for our newly purchased lights.
Harry also bought a coat for the cold weather....not a cheap day! I have been trying to get him into a nice pair of brown brogues for years....he would have almost bought a pair today from the coat shop if they had his size in the shop.
Three good things:
1. Lunch out & evening meal shortly at Cathys with other parents....will forget how to cook soon!
2. Winter is almost here.....all the leaves were blowing off today & floating down through the air...I like winter.
3. The shops are beginning to look so festive.
A beautiful candid shot Pat! Sounds as if you have had a good day ,and Harry will be warm for winter !! You must get him suitably shod !! on your next shopping trip ! Amazing how some trees are holding on to the leaves in spite of the rain and wind -- It has been a pleasant sunny day here today -- could do with a few dry days again !
That's a lovely capture, I like the way she is looking down at him and he seems to be looking back! I am impressed that Harry is even at the shops, let alone buying.
You always have to think when spelling that word dachshund! He's a cutie and being allowed on the bench! Would be a no no in NZ even if you owned the shop! A good coat would be necessary for an English winter! We just seem to wear jackets.
Cute little dog in a charming shop. You are so positive to like winter. I live in the desert, and it's too cold for me. I'm a winter wimp. I do like snow scenes, but we get so few, that we're just left with cold.
@cejaanderson well I like winter much more now I am retired Jane. Didn't like much going out to feed calves & milk when it was cold but pretty much can stay inside if it's cold. A good warm fire is the thing!!
Love Doris the Dachshund Pat. We used ti have a lovely gift shop here which closed for 15 minutes at regular intervals so the shop dog could go for a walk. People used to visit the shop because they liked the dog and then spend so they have their uses
@thistle Harry has just said the dog was so soft it looked miserable if that makes sense to you Joyce!!
