Iron maze

Always a little eerie under the pier I think......seems darkish, dampish & creepy even on a sunny day. Quite interesting lines & struts though.
Today's film was Mr. Turner with Timothy Spall. An Oscar winning performance I am sure but the film is rather odd. Slow & with nothing very exciting going on its not everyone's cup of tea. My friend really enjoyed it but I can't say I would recommend.
An interesting thing for me was that Clive Francis was in it, he stayed with me once when he was appearing at The Grand theatre in Blackpool....a charming man who spent his birthday sitting in our summer house reading in the sun.
I did see a trailer for the film about Steven Hawkings which looks excellent & they had pinched @judithg lovely photo scene of her bridge & the punt in Cambridge.

Three good things:
1. Sandwiches on the back row of the cinema.
2. Clearing out drawers....so much more space!
3. Christmas Hyacinths.
Great in B&w and love the complex line work!

Great photo - piers are pretty awesome structures.
Good to get comments on films that are out! We're going to see ' The Imitation Game' on Saturday .........already planned as the weather forecast is lots of rain and wind! Not gardening or walking weather!

I want to see that film, but it isn't on here yet.

I like the bright light at the end of the pier coming through all this ironwork. Also like the idea of lunch at the movies!

I'd agree with the eerie feel. Great shot though

November 12th, 2014
@pinkpaintpot it was Central Pier Linda. My favourite is North Pier..it has much charm I think.

@sarah19 we are going to see that next Wedensday Sallie...the trailer looked excellent. Will be interested in your opinion....true story I believe.

@aslessknownsu it was interesting Susan....not sorry I saw it but wouldn't be on my top ten list.

I enjoyed Turner. Very Mike Leigh so typically slow as you say. I remember years ago taking a friend to see Still Voices Distant Lives and he threatened never to go to the cinema ever again!

You have really captured that slightly dangerous feel of the underneath of the pier. I have re followed you as realised that you had disappeared off my list for some reason.
November 12th, 2014
You've captured this really well despite the darkness beneath the pier. I love your 3 good things. It's so satisfying clearing out drawers.

I felt just the same as you about Turner. Struck me that they only knew bits and bobs about his life and so they showed us those. Nigel says the reviews say that it's all about vignettes - didn't help that we were on the front row and couldn't really see the 'Turner vistas'. I did like the interaction with Constable and John Ruskin though but overall I was disappointed. Lovely photo and I've got prime seats booked for Alan Turing on Sunday. Really looking forward to Stephen Hawking - Nigel has carried his chair (with him in it) down steps!!

Interesting about the Turner. I was looking forward to seeing it. Not so sure now. Perhaps I'll wait until it's on TV! Love this shot Pat reminds me of wandering under the pier at Morecambe as a child always cold wet, smelly and a bit spooky!

Really cool pov - love the processing.
November 13th, 2014
@thistle I think you either like it or not Joyce, my friend loved it! I am glad I saw it but wasn't the best film I have seen...was disappointed. Timothy Spall was excellent.
