Joy by happypat

Joy

Some of the pottery on sale yesterday at Emma Bridgewater....I am particularly fond of this range.
Although it says Joy I feel it can be used most of the year but looks really festive at this time of the year.
I was tempted to buy a mince pie plate but decided not in the end as felt it was too limiting,
This is the proper shop whereas the part doing the most trade was the second department....why did I like this mince pie plate better than the one at half price in the seconds.......ah well that's life!
I do wish I had bought a mince pie plate now!!

Just editing to thank you for all your recent faves & comments on my recent shots....I have got bad at thanking individually but I asure you every comment & fave is much appreciated. Thanks a million!

Three good things:
1. A nice quiet Sunday afternoon after all the B&B left this morning. All washing dried on the line.
2. Fish & chips for tea I think!
3. Songs of Praise on TV.
Great capture of a place I would love to visit. Looks wonderful.

JOY indeed --not only the design - but the joy of being able to browse around this wonderful pottery ! No wonder you had a lovely day !

Looks delightful. I'd love it. We will be having Christmas plates and bowls for December. Only morrisons ones with Santa, snowmen, Rudolph and a penguin on but the little ones will love them.

Great stuff

nice shot. you've obviously had better weather than us if your washing dried on the line. It's been pouring with rain all day here

@rosiekind had been a fantastic day here ...sun & a little wind to dry the washing. Only 3 degrees tonight so noticeably colder though,

that's a nice collection, wish I had the money to spend on stuff like this.

Lovely old fashioned buttery colour on this crockery! There is one nice plate that would be great to put your mince pies on!

@maggiemae I wished I had bought that plate afterwards maggiemae!!

I love it! Her stuff is so expensive though! There was an offer for a mug in a magazine, think it may have been Gardener's World. It was £25 and I was too mean to buy it! Who'd pay £25 for a mug?

PS - I still think you should have bought the mince pie plate!!
November 23rd, 2014
before i read your narrative , the mince pie plate had caught my eye too Pat :)
November 23rd, 2014
@busylady I know pricy but the seconds were much cheaper & you couldn't tell why they were seconds!

What beautiful pottery. I noticed the mince pie plate too. Can't think why. ha ha.
Go on, go back and buy it, I am sure you deserve a birthday. I have lots of them and regularly feel a birthday coming on. I have lost count of how many birthdays I have had this year. I must be at least 143 years old by now.

Love this festive pottery

@onewing well it wasn't that I hadn't spent anything Babs.....I spent lots....I thought the plate was a step too far! They are a mail order firm so I can easily order it through the post! Don't tempt me!!
November 24th, 2014
Oh boy, I bet you enjoyed the shopping
November 24th, 2014
Don't you always wish you had bought that something! It's a lovely plate, trouble is where would you keep all those extra special day bits,
November 24th, 2014
I can't tell you how many times I have come home and then regretted not buying something. I do like Emma Bridgewater but we really do not need any more china or pottery in this house. Perhaps I should drop more!
Great picture it looks so tempting. I fear I should do a Babs and have another birthday!

@thistle ha ha Joyce....if you had seen all this pottery on the table you would definitely said I had enough. Funny too as I was washing it I thought 'why have I not used this jug/ bowl all year' hence my thought of looking but not seeing. I did laugh at @onewing comments! I am almost 200 I think!
November 24th, 2014
@thistle sorry you must be confused I thought you were commenting on my cleaning dresser photo......I never looked at the photo above!
November 24th, 2014
@happypat Don't worry I get so confused with my own pictures. I am trying to work out a system for making sure i comment on everyones photo's but I can't find one that works.
November 24th, 2014
I nearly bought a mince pie plate too but I'm glad I didn't now - must behave until December!!
November 24th, 2014
@happypat Go on Pat. force yourself. You know you would love it. ha ha.
