After the cinema I nipped into Garstang to the bank & to pick up some flowers for my sister in law.
The flower shop smelt beautiful, a mixture of pine, hyacinths & flowers.
Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts on the recent death of our brother in law......they are much appreciated.
Three good things:
1. My first taste of popcorn for many years!
2. We are going out to the fish & chip restaurant in the village tonight.
3. Good TV night!
@cejaanderson the flower shops are so inviting at this time of the year......loads of arrangements ready to go out to customers.....bi fancy ones too. I wouldn't thank you for one of those.....a bowl of hyacinths or a poinsettia at Christmas is all I want!
those hyacinths are growing so well - its early but they will be out for the very beginning of spring. Our favourite fish and chip shop has closed down! A woe is me and a heap of other people too! I try to do them at home but its not the same - the seem to be tasteless.
@maggiemae Alex says she heard that your fish & chip shop had closed down.....she has friends farming just past Duntroon.
Doesn't anyone eat fish & chips in your town?
@happypat There are lots of those shops in town but they don't cook the fish well. Thin batter and well drained is the best! Duntroon is just up the road!
What a lovely display. I am not a big popcorn fancier and I haven't had fish and chips for ages. You have inspired me to get fish and chips for dinner, maybe tomorrow. They serve excellent gem fish and blue grenadier which are varieties of hake, at our local fish and chip shop.
