This picture reminds me of the Beatrice Potter book Pigling Bland for some strange reason. I think one of the illustrations had Pigling & his girl friend, who I need to google the name of, running hand in hand down the road & over the hills.
Funny how little things remind you of your childhood....probably of reading to the grandchildren too.
This is my third & last landscape for the February landscape challenge.
Taken on a recent walk near Scorton village.
Three good things:
1. Out for fish & chips tonight with friends.
2. I have finished a long winded book that was too good to discard but a chore to start every night.....I now find that it's a four parter & have ordered the second part...must be some sort of draw in there somewhere...it was practically free!
3. Another instalment of money owing by the B&B who left without paying!
@quietpurplehaze@thistle thank you both of you.......I am not a great enthusiast of landscapes as I always like people in my shots but glad not to have wasted these three. Back to the usual tomorrow! I'm glad you can see Pigling Joyce!
@cejaanderson@busylady Thank you Judith for the fave......it is lovely there but I like more lively....bit like your today's Jane! Thank you both very much .
Gorgeous light in this landscape Pat A perfect landscape for a Beautrice Potter scene with Pigling and girlfriend to run over the fields or indeed I can visualise Rupert Bear and friends having adventures here !! .
I have really enjoyed your three landscapes -I love landscapes with water in them and your other two simply had either a lake or river in them. Like you I am glad I have done it
A beautiful vista to close the gate on landscape with. This is such a tempting image as it is both looking back and looking forward. Big fav.
Thank you for tagging me into this theme; I am now going to enjoy drifting through the multitude of beautiful landscapes under this tag.
Lovely lighting. Littlest takes a Beatrice potter book to bed with him most nights at the moment. He cuddles them. He then brings it with him for his 5am cuddle, if not fast enough making room I get it dumped on my head whilst he climbs in.....
As usual with your landscapes, you have chosen the late sun to provide a golden look through the scene! I think Farmer McGregor might be striding down this hill shortly!
@julzmaioro@jantan Thanks Julz & Jan....the B&B left owing me £320. He was working in the area but go the sack. His mother is sending me £10 per week! We are down to £280 now!! Has only happened three times in over 20 years!
@newbank They are timeless aren't they the BP books though some I fear are slightly frightening for little ones! Nothing better than cuddling up with mum.
@bizziebeeme@denisefuller It is a very peaceful spot.....it was a misty slightly frosty day when we went with Alex a walk.....thank you for your faves so much.
Beautiful landscape shot, lovely light over the trees and misty back drop love the hill slope and shadows on the grass, nicely framed with the trees. The golden light just makes it all so beautiful.
This is simply splendid, Pat!! I can see any and all of Beatrix Potter's wonderful characters traipsing through this landscape or squeezing under the fence. Love it! A fav.
I finally finished the tiresome book I was reading. In retrospect, it wasn't all that bad...just not as riveting as I would like a mystery novel to be.
@peggysirk I finished mine then stupidly bought the second in series. Could kick myself because it's going over the same old story from a different angle! Started another last night which I don't like either so have thrown in the towel & am reading a chick lit by Cathy Kelly!
