Cresting the hill

I am using up my walk pictures from Monday as I hope to have lots of New York ones when I come back from my USA holiday.....you will be fed up of them at the end!!

Three good things:
1. A really good film seen this afternoon....Suite francaise. We loved it, the music, the 1940's clothes which looked so relevant today & the dishy German officer.....we found it very romantic but not such a good ending.
2. The first proper Spring day after a dodgy frosty start.
3. Egg sandwiches.
Suite Francaise is out on film? I adored the book, really good. Cant remember how it ended though was a long time ago read it, pre the boys so over 6 years! Egg sandwiches....yuk!

@newbank I should have remembered you don't like eggs! I have just ordered a sample of Suite francaise but I think the film is probably a sweetened simplified version of the book. I enjoyed it though so,if you get chance of a baby sitter! I would come myself if I didn't live away!

@anazad511 Oh I wish Ana.....I would be there like a shot! We only have four days in New York so no time! I know it's not long but the very first time in the USA fir me....really looking forward to it too! One day perhaps!

@happypat well, best wishes and enjoy NY. My favorite city.

I like the simplicity and bold outlines of this shot in b&w. I'm interested in what you say about Suite Francaise as we studied the novel in my French Literature group. Ray read a bad review of the film so we had decided not to go but perhaps we should think again.

Sounds like you were looking for good photos everywhere on your walk! Nice one on the brow of this small hill - more a slope than a hill! Hurray for No3!

@quietpurplehaze Well I had no high hopes of this film but us two ladies enjoyed it tremendously....not sure if it's a mans film although the chap a bit along the row from me never moved the whole time. An indication of a good film I think is how long people sit after the film has ended , people were slow to move so I think it went down well.

Neat capture! Reminds me of my Mum and her twin as they used to hike together around the LD each year for a week.

Wonderful POV of disappearing figures and the hedge gives great perspective. Looking forward to your America shots. Will you be like Crocodile Dundee when he visits New York? LOL

A lovely shot Pat !

@lucypics Ha ha I hope not Lucy......I think I will be rather overawed by the height of the buildings no doubt....will let you know when I get back! Nice for a visit but I will probably be glad to get back to quiet after a few days!

Lovely capture, really leads your eye up the hill

Fabulous shot! I'd love to see it cropped closer - just around the couple and the hilly bits.
March 18th, 2015
@kwiksilver Think you might be right Gillian...I wanted to make a sort of tunnel but should perhaps have just kept it to the closer hedge!
March 18th, 2015
This is a super shot Pat. When do you leave?

Lovely place to walk

This looks brilliant in b&w. Slightly cooler than our venture today with the walking group. We were covered in sun block and mozzie spray. Lots of mozzies around after a 5 minute shower last night.

Love this hedge and composition! You're going to have SUCH a fab time in NY. Make a book of your photos - I'm going to go back and do mine because Mr Google says we'll lose digital images and he's probably right.

Lovely well timed capture Pat. I bet there's a lovely view from where they are.
