Rooftops

I went into Kendal today to pick up something for Cathy.
Kendal is a lovely town, the gateway to the Lake Disrict & most of the buildings are of Lakeland stone & slate.
I took this above Booths car park & I liked the view over the roof tops to the far hills.

Three good things:
1. Listening to a lovely CD that Jack compiled for me of various classical pieces that he picked out....all of them are lovely.
2. A good walk about among the narrow street & alleyways.
3. Little Finn our youngest Kiwi grandson has had grommets put in his ears this morning......hopefully he will have no more ear infections!
Lovely subject for a B&W capture Pat. How kind of Jack to record you a
CD.

Really nice composition and good in b&w. You've reminded me of my dad making compilations of classical music for family members, only then it was on tapes.

Great shot.

Love how crisp the image is here and how the path leads you right down into the village.

Works very well in b and w, I remember visiting Kendal a few years back, some lovely shops and restaurants.

A fantastic view and great in b&w. looks like a James Herriot scene.. The grommets will work wonders for Finn...

An interesting view over the roof tops -- so this is the home of the Kendal Mint Cake -- which I love !

This almost could be Cornwall! Lovely narrow streets and stone walls! Love the B&W treatment - so good for buildings. Jack is repaying you for what you do for him - would be a great CD being different pieces! I've got several I have done for myself and play in the car.

The rooftop view looks good in b/w. I like a good classical mix too. Have some good bought ones.

Great shot, really lends itself to b&w

Is that where they make the mint cake? Reminds me, must get some for my sons DofE. Great B&W treatment, love the leading path.

So charming! This looks like a scene from a movie. I love it!
Poor little Finn...I hope the grommets (we call them 'tubes' here) do the trick and he has no more suffering from ear infections!

Fabulous shot and it works so well in b&w. Reminds me of the old Hovis advert.

A fav. Love the b&w. Nice clarity as well.

A perfect choice for B/W

Love the line formed by the road

A fab little townscape Pat. My godmother lives there - in her 90's now and starting to get a bit confused but I love her to bits.

PS Grommets a godsend for both ours though Rachel had to have her eardrum repaired because one wouldn't fall out - worth watching for. Actually the repair failed twice & the surgeon said it's because she's got a structural problem in her ear - a bit of a nuisance but better than the glue ear she had so badly (and come to of it that's probably why it didn't fall out!)

This works so well in b&w :)

@judithg it's a lovely town Judith I could very happily live there myself. Interesting about the grommets, I have been talking to Finn & Max tonight & Finn looks fine again thank goodness. Glad they have had it done before that long flight! Good to hear of some happy results too.
April 14th, 2015
Oh yes - no fun on a flight. They pick up very quickly - Rachel ate a whole loaf of bread on the way to grandma's after hers!
April 14th, 2015
@judithg funny you should say that Finn has just eaten twice the breakfast Max has......
April 14th, 2015
Works very well in B&W and makes one concentrate on the rooftops
April 14th, 2015
Oh this is just charming and storybook atmosphere from this side of the pond! Love it.
