Stone Trough by happypat

Stone Trough

We brought this massive stone trough with us from the other farm.
The people who bought the farm really thought we would leave it behind as its so heavy.
No way when we had the machines to lift it, it came with us complete with plants & evergreen tree.
I love these tufts of alpine flowers but I can't remember the name of them. I thought Candytuft but when I looked at the pictures they look nothing like Candytuft.

Three good things:
1. I have bought a wireless printer - ours was so old we couldn't get the ink cartridges!
2. Harry has been to the bowling green, not to bowl I might add, just to watch & after for coffee.
3. Lots of cows out in the fields.
Pretty pinks.

Thrift? Or 'Sea pink' - Armeria maritima. Get me - I'm probably wrong. Love your trough.

A lovely trough of alpines - I love these genuine stone troughs So rustic and so lovely planted like this -- yes Judith @judithg you are completely correct --it is a Thrift or "sea- pinks" as they are sometimes known I am not up on their botanical name --I tend to forget !! (senior moments !! ) but it sounds about right !
Pleased to hear Harry is getting on well !! -- it will be back on that motor mowing the grass in no time -- don't let him do it too soon though Pat !

@beryl Thank you too Beryl........you are an expert too! Harry is going along nicely but still in pain but we don't expect anything less! He sleeps badly at night so it's a long time but he is asleep now so you can't expect different!

Love your trough, and the light on the thrift is so beautiful.

You won't be shifting this trough around - there to stay! You could change the flowers though every year . Flowers and stonework go together so nicely! I hope Harry's got something to help him sleep every night? Printers are so cheap now but its the cartridges that are more expensive!

@maggiemae that's why I bought a new one maggimae......I needed new cartridges but they had to be ordered specially & were expensive...the computer was so,out if date I thought it was time for a new one! The new cartridges are much cheaper so,it was cost effective even though I do t use it much. Will have to try printing photos forvthecshow.....will save me going to Asda!

Yes it's thrift. Had it in my garden but lost it, such a pretty pin cushion of pink on that mound of green. What a clean stone trough, mine is covered in moss!
