Charlotte riding her horse through the tram lines in the barley field.
We visited our nephew & family on their farm this afternoon. They only live a mile away but we wanted to look at his cattle & prize bull.
Max loves his cousin Harry & followed him round the whole time.
Jo & the boys are off to London & Dorset for a week tomorrow....I will miss them.
Anthony has just arrived in Melbourne on his journey home....only three more hours to Auckland.
More commenting from now on, thank you for all your lovely comments on my recent photos.
Three good things:
1. Flightradar24 a brilliant tool for tracking planes. We have tracked Anthony all the way home!
2. A sunny day.
3. Tractor rides.
@quietpurplehaze@phil_howcroft Thank you Hazel & Phil. Charlotte was banned from riding through the barley but dad let her just for me! I would have proffered if the sky had been clear behind....I think the farm spoils the shot for simplicity. Not their farm but a neighbours.
A lovely shot Pat -- rather like a scene from a Western !! or even "Oklahoma "- "Oh what a beautiful day "
There's a bright golden haze on the meadow.
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye ,
And it looks like its climbing right up to the sky .
(and later on in the song )
They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by ..
But a little brown maverick is winking his eye !
We have seen the wheat fields now the barley! Where are the oats? Great shot and nicely planned. I didn't know they were called 'tram lines"! Good that the family will see London - can't miss that on an English visit!
@beryl Well thought out Beryl......now the song is going through my head! I love that musical. I took loads of photos of Charlotte & even now not sure this is the best.
Lovely shot Pat. Are you family coming back after the visit to Dorset and London. You have been having such a wonderful time you will miss them.
Flightradar24 is brilliant. My son travels a lot as part of his job and I track his flights on it regularly especially the long haul ones.
@thistle Hi Joyce, yes they are back next Wednesday, am missing them already but will be nice to top up our batteries! These apps are amazing aren't they, first time I have used it to track family....we actually logged on as he was taking off from Melbourne airport & used the 3D application.
Fabulous shot and love the perspective. It is a long haul from the UK to New Zealand isn't it. I hope Anthony managed to get plenty of sleep along the way.
Fav for me too! Love it! WIll try that tracker for Adam going to Amsterdam - shouldn't take too much time out of my day. Wish I could track him when he gets there...
@judithg I do t think he would be too keen on that idea!! Amsterdam ....well boys being boys they will certainly go round a gpcertain area....much laughter I expect....oh to be young! That ap is essential for anyone left at home & loved ones flying.
fabulous shot Pat. we are back in London now at our sons place and after the French countryside I am finding the traffic and crowds a bit much.Glad to have a real summer day today though. Hope it lasts till
Wednesday when we leave for home and winter
@cruiser oh a bitter sweet time then.......not easy specially when young children are involved! We are going out to NZ in February, have managed to go every year since our first son emigrated eleven years ago but it's an expensive job! Don't know how long we will be able to keep it up! Enjoy your last few days together.
