Garstang show day today & it's a very good place for seeing people you haven't talked to for ages!
This travelling sheep show is very entertaining. We have seen it a few times before & even once in Rotorua in New Zealand but it's always great fun! The guy running it is so funny talking about his sheep, he even has them dancing at the end. Each sheep that comes on has its own entrance music & a little story about each one.
Three good things:
1. Volunteers that give their time to run shows like this.
2. Sampling different foods on the way round....
3. A lost hearing aid found.
A super collage, great variety of sheep. We went to a local country show, today, one we always take the fire engine to.....just in case the young farmers have one over the top,and set fire to the hay bales!!
@pinkpaintpot Yes we have our tickets already......should we meet up for a coffee do you think......men can go round the tractors perhaps. We could have a bit of a chat & then go on our way!
The sheep are so good just standing there! Sheepshape and Bristol fashion! I've never seen one and can't pretend I know about sheep either! That guy has got an Australian type hat on!
@maggiemae Do,you think he's a fraud.....I didn't actually see the start of this show today....I presumed he was from NZ, all the other ones have been & I have seen this chap before. He mentioned znZ so imthoughtbhe was a kiwi but might have been Australian. They were based in Norfolk UK so think he's lived here a while...the NZ arm of sheep shows perhaps. He was offering to shear any bikini lines!.....saucy too!
It looks and sounds like lots of fun. I wish I'd mentioned the meet up - London day but I only decided to go at the last minute. It was Rosie Kind who told me it was on and then only about a week or two before. Apparently it's advertised on the 'discussions' site. Padlock says he won't do another one but we think we may have persuaded him. Also, Pete @pistonbroke said he might do one in Cambridge so I'll let you know if I hear about that one going ahead. I did think you might be there but thought that this may be a busy time of year for you.
@busylady no worries Judith....it has been busy lately so I probably wouldn't have been able to commit to actually booking a rail ticket early when they are cheaper. I loved the meet ups & visiting London but not always possible to go......perhaps Cambtpridge sometime. We are booking a holiday cottage in North Norfolk next June, we have a family wedding so thought we would have a week exploring. Not too far to Cambidge I think, hoping to meet @judithg, @lucypics & as many as possible down there one day.....perhaps then would be good!
I've seen this show or a similar one - loved it! Your triptych idea is brilliant! I didn't see the London meet but I've had a lot on too. Feel bad I haven't organised a Cambridge one - I'd rather do small visits because then I can go in the colleges with people.
@judithg We are hiring a cottage next June in North Norfolk so hope to have a day in Camebridge then....perhaps that would be a good time to meet you & anyone else available. We have a family wedding on the 4th June.
Great photo's :)
