Celebrations

A day of celebration today for these two.
Max is five today & Lydia got her required A in her A level Phsycology exam results this morning.
She has been accepted in the very over subscribed Speech & Language Therapy course at Manchester Metropolitan University so she is thrilled.
Max starts school in New Zealand tomorrow as is the custom.
There will be celebrations in NZ tomorrow....Lydia is staying with them at the moment before they fly to Melbourne for a week on Sunday & then home again.

Happy birthday Max!
Well done Lydia!

Three good things:
1. Afternoon tea out with a glass of fizz with my friend this afternoon instead of the cinema.
2. The decorator is doing good next door.
3. Plans to meet up with @fueast & Monica an ex 365er from the USA.

Lydia would have worked hard for her place at the University so well done, Lydia. Max has no control over his age but its a celebration for the school he is going to attend and start his learning! You would have loved this photo!

Many congrats to both! Really great news. So children go to school as soon as they turn 5 or it's just coincidentally the start of school? Nice comfy sofa.

@judithg no they start school on or nearest their fifth birthday...Max stated the day after. They do have a brilliant Kindy education though.
August 16th, 2015
@happypat interesting way of doing it - big school then
August 16th, 2015
@judithg well no I don't think so guessing about fifty or sixty...will ask as I'm interested myself! Just a small village school but of course with swimming pool!
August 16th, 2015
@judithg Just checked on the website if Waitetuna School & there are three classes & seven staff.
August 16th, 2015
@happypat lovely! Mind you our primary has one as well - the kids go in it in the rain in summer term!
August 16th, 2015
@judithg They are lucky even if the weather is not too good it's such an asset! There won't be many primary schools with a pool in the UK unfortunately!
August 16th, 2015
I used to teach in a school in Cornwall with an outdoor unheated pool. The children swim every day in the summer. I would stand on the side saying "In you get. Of course it's not cold," thinking "No way would you get me in there!"

You must be so proud of your grandchildren. Congratulations to both of them.
