Book stall

I think I was spotted as I took this photo from the hip on market day in Garstang.
This is a very popular second hand book stall which does really well every week.

Three good things:
1. The electrician has been here all afternoon doing different checks on the rented property next door, putting new under cupboard lights in our kitchen & a new shaver light in the bathroom. I picked the wrong lights for one of the cupboards, it might have to come down if I cant cope with it.....white light instead of warm light!
2. Info on the radio...different facts on the Steve Wright afternoon show. Apparently If robins eat too many holly berries they get tipsy & frequently fall of power lines drunk!
3. Camera battery charged up for a trip to Yorkshire tomorrow.
Super shot.

Is the book stall man shaking a stick. Great shot. Looking forward to seeing your Yorkshire shots aswell. Hope your electrician did a better job than ours yesterday. Had Power co man changing us to the new 'smart metres' half hour after he left went to turn on lights.. no lights.. had to wait for Georgie boy come in ftom shed .. and he had not out fuses back properly

@julzmaioro We used to have our milking parlour checked out once a year & pretty much every time we used to start milking & something wouldn't come on......frustrating! He did ok our usual chap has retired & this one hadn't been before...he didn't fill me with confidence I must say, was very quiet & not much to say for himself! I wanted a chap with ideas & perhas would have told me before he unpacked the light that they didn't match the others! Actually now they are on & it's dark they do look more modern than the others. I think I quite like them.

@willowdragon yes I think we are too used to our areas!

Wonderful shot, love a good book stall

@julzmaioro Forgot about 'the stick' no it's a tent strut I think! The black thing sticking up in the middle is a bollard. These line either side of the High street in Garstang. They look quite nice but you have to be careful no to hit them if parking in the street.

Love your pov Pat.

Those books look in very good condition and quite modern! So expensive to buy new now particularly when you can get them on kindle! Are you getting the train over to Yorkshire?
September 4th, 2015
Yes, you certainly have a couple of posers in this shot. Great pov though - I can really feel amongst all those old books.

Nice capture of the book stall - I can never resist one!

@maggiemae No I'm driving maggiemae. Going to Malham to meet Alison & Monica, two 365ers. Monica lives in the USA & Alison & Poppy her dog live near Leeds.

Great pov. Nice shot.

Ha...great one. Yes, I think so...at least they were smiling!

Ha ha, yep definitely been spotted. Did you buy any books. We have a fantastic second-hand book shop at Cooks Hill and they don't let you out until you buy at least three books. Well that's my story anyway.

Great capture, I would love the chance to have a look through these. Very creative

Yes you've been spotted Pat. Great shot though. I really must get to grips with shooting from the hip. I seem to end up with the pavement and people's feet!

I often forget about this option, shooting from the hip, I must try it more often. Good shot.

Nice shot and I know I would love this place as I am a huge fan of second book shops

Super candid capture. Love the comment about the robins

Fantastic point of view.....did these two smiling guys spot your camera!! Love it!
September 5th, 2015
Yes, you were spotted, and I think they wanted to be in the shot!

lovely scene. I've tried to shoot from the hip several times. A good option. I have to change a light in our hallway from "cool" to "warm" I couldnt stand the gloomy light

@cruiser Funnily enough Harry & I have both decided we prefer the whiter LED lights to the warm strip light. It has given the kitchen a more modern look somehow! The worst part is that they don't match!

From the hip? Fantastic! We have tenants in our Brum house now - Japanese couple and their two little boys - I'm pleased as they will take their shoes off in the house!

I like the pov here, gives a great look to your shot.
