Harry & I have been to Kirkby Lonsdale today to buy a lovely new PVC tablecloth for our kitchen table. This shop Parma Violet has lots of lovely stuff, was so tempted to buy another lamp shade for the dining room but restrained myself ( partly because we weren't sure of the size! )
We had our lunch at the cafe we like so much ....see extras photo....& then a wander up & down the high street. I took lots of nice photos which will be very good for fillers.
A bit of Christmas shopping too...all in all a lovely day.
This couple were enjoying themselves too by the looks on their faces!
Three good things :
1. Shopping!
2. Lunch next to a roaring fire!
3. A guess with the size of the tablecloth was right!
I don't think they were married - they have an interested look on what is being said - probably on a date! I'm glad I don't have shops like yours - I would be tempted all the time!
@maggiemae It did pass through my mind too maggiemae that they might have been on a crafty illicit date....they look too jolly & carefree to be an old married couple...I'm darn sure Harry & I didn't look as merry as this! Ha ha !
Great candid shot. She looks rather rugged up, must be getting chilly in your part of the world.
Looks an interesting shop and lovely name. I remember Parma Violet sweets when I was a child. We sold them in our shop. I loved them. I wonder if you can still get them now.
@quietpurplehaze yes the lady folded it up which I didn't actually approve of as they roll it in Dunelm but it came out ok.....not too heavy either. It wipes over beautifully & there are some wonderful patterns these days. Will do a photo one day soon.
We have PVC cloth on our kitchen table and there are such lovely designs now. Great candid capture. They look so happy. I wonder if Maggiemae is right!
Oooh you can't beat Kirkby Lonsdale! I resisted temptation in the home wear shop today too - mostly because the operation to remove the cat that lives next door's teeth cost a fortune and next door aren't showing any signs of coughing up the money - I need to go round and tackle them - aarghh.
@judithg how awkward Judith....surely they don't expect you to pay? I would hate asking too but even if they are elderly they should pay the cats vet fees!
